Scholars Program
The TBWA Scholars program recognizes hard working and high achieving Hillsborough County high school seniors. Through the program, we offer scholarships to approved community colleges, universities, trade schools or any school approved by the Florida Prepaid Scholarship Board. TBWA’s goal is to help Hillsborough high school seniors prepare for their careers and keep our educated workers here in the Tampa Bay area.
To date, TBWA has invested in a total of 77 scholarships.
Tuition Plan
Eligible applicants can be awarded one of the following tuition plans:
- The 4 Year University Tuition Plan - covers 120 semester credit hours in a state university in Florida
- The 2+2 Tuition Plan – covers 60 community college credit hours and 60 university undergraduate credit hours (May be applied to vocational/technical schools).
- The 2 Year Community College Tuition Plan - covers 60 community college credit hours.
- Other/Trade School
Requirements
Applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Completed scholarship application.
- Currently enrolled high school senior in Hillsborough County or have obtained a GED during 2009-2010 school year.
- Accepted to an institution of higher learning.
- Submit two letters of recommendation from a teacher and/or guidance counselor/someone in your community.
- Have minimum GPA of 2.0 and submit high school transcript or copy of GED.
- Meet income criteria.
Submission Deadline
Please submit completed application and necessary documents postmarked no later than February 1, 2010.
