Renée A. Benton, President/CEO
Renée A. Benton, president and chief executive officer, provides leadership to Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc. (TBWA), which provides essential workforce services to the Tampa Bay business community. Over the past three years, she has led the organization’s transition to a business delivery model, earning distinction from the business community and recognition by TBWA associates. In 2004, Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance was named finalist for Business of the Year by the Tampa Bay Business Journal. Ms. Benton’s involvement extends to participation as board director of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and member of its prominent Committee of 100, the economic development arm of the GTCC.
Prior to joining Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Ms. Benton was based in Tallahassee, Florida where she served as interim director of the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs for the Department of Labor.
Ms. Benton is a nationally recognized expert in the area of workforce development and has received accolades for the development of an early model of innovative employment services. In addition, Ms. Benton has been cited by the Office of the President of the United States for innovative government leadership. She has received multiple commendations.
Ms. Benton is a graduate of Florida A & M University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Atlanta University. |

Julie Sanon, Senior Vice President of Operations
Julie Sanon provides Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance (TBWA) with strategic and tactical leadership with an emphasis on using expertise in workforce programs. Previously, as TBWA's operations manager, Ms. Sanon was responsible for all career centers and programmatic activities.
Prior to joining TBWA, Ms. Sanon served as program manager for the Agency for Workforce Innovation in Winter Park. Prior to that, Sanon was an integral part of the Department of Labor and Employment Security as a Worker's Compensation district administrator and bureau chief.
With over 21 years of experience in the employment and labor industry, Ms. Sanon possesses a versatile background encompassing such skills as leadership, management, supervision, RFP evaluation, contract administration and team-building. A psychology/sociology major of Oklahoma Christian University of Science and Arts, she received her Public Manager Certification from Florida State University Center for Professional Development.

Carol Brinkley, Vice President of WorkForce Services and Consumer Affairs
Carol Brinkley is vice president of WorkForce Services and Consumer Affairs. In her role, she enforces compliance with regulatory and other agencies, monitors program performance at all levels of the organization and oversees consumer affairs activities. Ms. Brinkley is a graduate of the University of Tampa with a dual major in Business Management and Management Information Systems and received a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida. Prior to joining Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, she served as senior analyst for the state’s Wages Board and served in various positions in private sector companies. |

Michele Pineda, Chief Financial Officer
Michele Pineda, vice president of finance and chief financial officer, oversees all financial operations for TBWA. She brings over 25 years experience in accounting and finance leadership, and has been recognized by the state of Florida for her expertise in effective cost allocation. Ms. Pineda implemented an electronic voucher system that simplifies the tracking of financial data for job candidates' training initiatives and has received national attention. Prior to joining TBWA, Ms. Pineda was controller and CFO for Infinite Outsource, an affiliate of PBS.

Marlina Latson McClure, Director of Strategic Business Alliances
Marlina Latson McClure manages business development and customer service functions that are designed to meet the needs of businesses and employers at the local, state and federal levels. Ms. McClure has over 20 years experience in sales and marketing leadership, which includes 12 years of diversified pharmaceutical industry experience. Ms. McClure has lent her talents to numerous companies including GTE/Verizon and Pfizer Pharmaceutical. She is a graduate of Spelman College with a dual degree in English and Economics.

Jamilette (Jamie) Melendez, Director of Communications
In her role as director of communications, Ms.Melendez directs all public affairs, marketing, internal communications and special event planning activities. Her background includes more than 18 years in healthcare marketing and public affairs, most recently with the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia. She holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. Ms. Melendez has served on numerous boards and organizations, including the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. She is a graduate from Leadership Tampa Class of 2006 and currently serves as president of the Tampa Bay chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. |
