On-the-Job Training
On-the-Job Training (OJT) is a quick and effective way to ensure your company has a well-trained workforce!
Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance endorses employee learning to help companies achieve their business goals. On-the-Job Training services assists a company's bottom line because employees are working as the learn - on the job.
OJT helps companies attract and retain a qualified workforce through skills training while on the job. Companies can engage their trainees in productive work while acquiring knowledge and skills essential to job performance.
It’s easy…your business just needs to:
-
Agree to provide on the job training for a full time salary or hourly position in one of the positions listed on the 2010-2011 Region 15 Targeted Occupations List
-
Retain the trainee for a minimum of six months, if the trainee is meeting the minimum performance standards required for the position
-
Complete the agreement and position information prior to hiring the individual
-
Provide pay, time records, and participant updates to receive reimbursement
That’s it!
The OJT Program will pay up to 50% of the individual’s hourly salary for a standard OJT period, to be determined by the coordinator based on salary and standard time for OJT for the position.
