On June 29, 2006, TBWA recognized its three Business Excellence Awards recipients at the Tampa Club.  Recipients were selected for their commitment to hiring and retaining top talent.  The 2006 TBWA Business Excellence Awards recipients were:

Emerging Business Award: Acuity Solutions

Acuity Solutions helps companies design data-security solutions.  It offers employees flexible work schedules, recognizing that family is important to the well-being of employees.  It holds events regularly that welcome employees’ families and children.  It reimburses a percentage of expenses incurred during an employee’s annual trips.  And, if they want to use the company condo at the beach, they just have to request it!  Acuity offers opportunities for advancement, including training, tuition reimbursement and a number of other programs.  It also hosts an anonymous Web-based feedback program to solicit input from employees on all company initiatives.

Expanding Business Award: All Medical Personnel

All Medical Personnel is a staffing resource specializing in medical professions.  It offers an outstanding array of work schedules to accommodate individual lifestyles.  Benefits abound at All Medical Personnel, including childcare reimbursement, a referral bonus program, employee appreciation programs, uniform and equipment discounts, work/family balance programs, safety training and flexible work schedules.  They monitor employee performance to ensure customer satisfaction and design recruitment strategies based on various tactics to receive customer and employee feedback.

Growth Business Award: HomeBanc Mortgage Corporation

HomeBanc Mortgage is one of the largest retail mortgage originators in the United States with store locations in Georgia, Florida and North Carolina.

According to their public statement about their employees: “We believe that associate satisfaction drives customer satisfaction, which in turn creates market share and increases net income. Putting our Associates first is key to our success.”

HomeBanc has created an environment where employees take pride in their work and work environment, receive fair compensation and employs a non-technical system of peer reviews so that prospective and current associates have an opportunity to decide together the best fit candidates for the organization. HomeBanc University keeps employees active through leadership and training programs, including individual learning plans.  Nearly 50 percent of new hires come from associate referrals.

Economic Development Impact Award: CIBER, Inc.

CIBER is a leading international systems integration firm founded in 1974, with 8,000 employees worldwide. More than 200 of them are here in Tampa Bay.  It has annual revenues of more than $900 million and is included in the Russell 2000 Index and the S&P Small Cap 600 Index. More than 2,000 customers - including mid-market leaders and many of the Fortune 500 - rely on CIBER’s expertise to compete in a global digital economy.  CIBER came to Hillsborough County in 2005, in large part because of the technology talent pool available in our area.  CIBER is an alternative to offshore outsourcing, offering competitive wages and considerable safety with regard to intellectual property and security.
